SASEA

SAS Energy Analyst

The energy analyst that
already ran this morning.

SASEA keeps the US gas and power balance as a standing process — refreshed before the market opens, whether or not anyone signs in. Ask the question; the work is already done.

DATACENTERS & COMPUTE

Gas, nuclear, coal, wind, solar and battery storage — through to the datacenters turning that power into compute. Sourced, timestamped, and the same answer tomorrow as today.

Not another chatbot.

SASEA doesn't guess. It draws on a curated knowledge base on the Claude.ai platform, experiential intel from a 30-year industry veteran, heaps of historical data, and live API feeds. Right data. Right math. Right quick.

01

Live API Data

EIA, FRED, NOAA — real numbers, not vibes. Every table is sourced and timestamped.

02

NWP Weather Models

GFS + ECMWF forecasts piped straight into degree day math. 199-city weighted.

03

Full S&D Balance

Production, storage, demand, imports, power burn — the complete picture in one conversation.

04

30 Years of Market Expertise

Developed by a veteran energy-market professional.

One analyst. The whole energy complex.

SASEA started in natural gas and did not stop there. Each domain below is queried the same way — plain language, sourced numbers, timestamped.

Natural Gas

Dig Deep

Production, storage, demand, pipeline flows, LNG, and power burn — plus the storage forecast running 24 months out, with V17 driving the next four weekly prints.

Renewables

Wind and solar generation across the balancing authorities, with the weekly history behind it — sourced from EIA-930 and reconciled against the plant-level fleet.

Battery Storage (BESS)

The full operating US battery fleet — every unit, by state, balancing authority, and operator. Refreshed monthly from EIA-860M.

Datacenters & Compute

Named sites and committed capacity, tracked against the corridors where load actually shows up as generation. The in-app Knowledge Hub is the resource behind it — the buildout story, where the sites are, the power regions they sit in, and the full methodology.

Energy Weather

GFS and ECMWF runs driving 199-city population-weighted degree days by census division — the demand signal underneath every gas and power number on the platform.

European Gas & Power

Coming Soon

TTF and NBP curves alongside continental power. In development.

Could you build this yourself?

I did — so you probably could. That part is worth saying plainly. An EIA API key is free, a capable model like Claude will read it, and it will retrieve and present anything you ask for.

It takes time. And at the end of the day, what you have is a list of saved conversations.

What the key does not come with

  • Thirty years of desk judgment, already applied. Which series matter, how they move together, and where a relationship quietly breaks — none of that ships with an API key. It comes from trading this market at Enron and UBS, co-founding an energy investment manager, and writing the standard reference on it twice. A capable model will fetch any number asked of it. Knowing which one to ask for is the harder half.
  • Context, format, and the comparison already computed. A number on its own is not an answer. Every figure lands positioned — week over week, against last year, against the five- and ten-year range, against weather-normal — in a sourced, timestamped table built to be used rather than retyped. Ask how a trend has held or how two periods compare on a like-for-like window; on Desk, move an assumption in the supply/demand sandbox and carry it through the balance.

The data is public. The presentation, the context, and where it takes you are the product.
